I was a first time home buyer and had some specific wants that I was not sure Lori would be able to find. I had lived my full 30 years in the Great Falls and Sterling areas and thought I knew every nook and cranny and every back road and neighborhood around. I was wrong. Lori was able to work with me and find the perfect house in a small community near the Potomac River. I have the boat ramp access I wanted as well as a large yard, garage, and a small community of friendly neighbors separated by horse fields. Not only did she find me exactly what I was looking for, it was within my budget!!!
Dean Yeonas was instrumental in the process of finding and buying our home in Vienna Virginia. We interviewed 3 agents recommended by friends, 2 buyer’s agents we researched online, and 2 based on local advertising and For-Sale signs. Dean distinguished himself as responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and very interested in learning about our goals.
We were equally impressed by his references - 3 young families like ours, whom Dean had helped as first-time buyers in the past. These ex-clients called us and gave glowing recommendations and feedback, with specific examples that we thought sounded similar to our needs. Dean helped us define our lists of must-have and nice-to-have features, the geographical area of interest, and then he showed us houses which covered a wide spectrum of types, prices, and neighborhoods, all within our initial criteria. After tweaking and narrowing down our initial list of features we finally found the house we liked and put an offer in.
In the negotiation process that followed, Dean demonstrated his acumen and extensive knowledge again. He represented our interests very well and was able to break the stalemate we were in at a certain point, due to Seller's price expectations that weren't really aligned with the market. Dean scheduled a direct meeting with the sellers and their agent, during which he defended our counteroffer using compelling arguments. Shortly after that meeting, the sellers accepted our counteroffer (which in fact differed by very little from our initial one) and everything followed smoothly from there.
Overall, we appreciated Dean’s professionalism, punctuality, and extensive knowledge about the real-estate market and its workings, his acutely practical nature, and ability to always recommend the course of action that was in our (buyer’s) best interest. Particularly appealing to us was that he listened well, never pressured us in any way and only provided information, options and objective advice, proving to be an excellent strategist in dealing with the sellers and their agent. I have known Lori and her kids for years, but when I was looking for my first home I really didn't think she would want to work with me to find a small condo so I could finally stop renting! I grew up in Great Falls with one of her sons and knew the quality of work she does and the clientele she works with in Great Falls, McLean, Reston, and investment properties throughout Northern Virginia. I was looking a little further west in Ashburn, and definitely with a lower budget than her normal clients. She truly cared for me and took the time to find the right condo for me as well as making sure I understood the importance of it from an investment standpoint. This may be her "motherly instinct" but she wanted me to consider my 5 and 10 year options and how long I planned on staying in my new home and whether I would want to rent it out or sell it down the line. She worked within my budget and constraints and took her time to make sure I was comfortable with the largest purchase of my life, thanks Lori!
My wife and I connected with Lori through one of those opportune accidental meetings. We had been looking for a condo for a week on our own and didn't have a realtor - then Lori appeared. In our first outing together we found "our perfect home" and made an offer the same night. We were in a competitive multiple bid situation and Lori provided the winning strategy to get us the contract.
